offers both used and new books. These can be distinguished by the following
codes. Each product code contains a ten digit number (last digit may be an X)
followed by a four character code (e.g. 1234567890PMUG). The four character
code is deciphered as follows:
Position 1: either "P" (paperback) or
"H" (hardcover)
Position 2: either "B" (paperback - odd sized or
indeterminate), "C" (hardcover), "M" (mass market
paperback) or "T" (trade size paperback), or "L" (large print)
Position 3: either "N" (new), "U" (used)
Position 4: "P" - our premium used books, very light wear
"G" - "good" quality used book
"E" - "economy" grade used book, medium to heavy wear
"R" - "remaindered" copy. New book generally with a black mark on the bottom or top page edges.
